2021 BMW G80 M3 / G82 M4 (A change for better or worse.

BMW has always been known to design unique, powerful, and attention grabbing engines, but more exclusively for the “M” models. The M3 and M4 have changed drastically over the last few years. The most recent change in the lineup for these models was 2021. Below is an image of a New 2021 M4 and a 2020 M4 (before the new look).

Although this new look is undeniably sleek and clean looking, I am not too impressed with the look compared to the old model. The more and more I see this car, it definitely has grown on me. Although this new look is undeniably sleek and clean looking, I am not too impressed with the look compared to the old model. The more and more I see this car, it definitely has grown on me.  BMW has always been especially proud of their high revving, naturally aspirated character. These newer models have taken a different path, they now use high performance turbo engines to make even more power than before. These unique kinds of traits are exactly why BMW owners love their cars. However these “high performance race-oriented engines” need extra care and maintenance. The new  8-speed ZF gearbox is the only option for these newer 2021 model vehicles. The shorter and closer ratio gives you consistent and endless accelerations, but loses the direct “Fall back in your seat” feel of the DCT and manual. The braking system still gives you a confident feel like in the F80 series, and now you can even play around settings for brakes as well. Although the vehicle has many new features and fancy gadgets which may appeal to A LOT of people, the older models are more for me. It seems to me BMW tried too hard to change it up, when what they were doing was almost near perfection before. The new and extremely large front grill looks so much less aggressive than the previous models. BMW is known for their classics, and being a car for people who love driving. Taking everything into consideration, if I were to choose which car to buy, it would definitely be 2020 over the 2021.
